About Us

Why Choose Prestige WallWorX

Interior painting transforms a room faster than almost any other home improvement project. But it's not as simple as rolling on a coat of paint and calling it done. Surface prep, product selection, cut lines, and cleanup all determine whether the result looks like a professional job or a weekend mistake. Prestige WallWorX has been doing this work since 2009, and with over 100 five-star Google reviews, the results speak for themselves. Ready to get started? Call (612) 419-2789 and we'll walk you through the process.

Every interior painting project is different. A single bedroom refresh costs far less than a whole-home repaint with repairs and color changes on every wall. What drives cost up: square footage, ceiling height, the number of coats needed, condition of existing surfaces, and how much prep the walls require before a brush ever touches them. A rough estimate for a standard room repaint in the Twin Cities area runs anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well over a thousand for larger or more complex spaces. Full-home projects scale significantly from there. Every job is different. Contact Prestige WallWorX for an accurate estimate.

What to Expect From Our Interior Painting Process

We don't show up and start painting. Before a single drop of paint hits a wall, we move furniture, remove items from the walls, and cover carpets and floors. Protection is part of the job. Once the space is prepped, we address any surface issues, apply primer where needed, and work through cuts and rolls in the right order so edges are clean and coverage is even. We clean up before we leave. That's the process every time.

Why Prep Work Is the Whole Game

Most DIY paint jobs fail at the prep stage, not the painting stage. Skipping sanding, skipping primer, painting over glossy surfaces without cleaning them first. You'll see it in six months when the paint starts peeling or the old color bleeds through. We've been doing this for 16 years and we don't skip steps. That's the difference between a job that looks good in photos and one that still looks good in five years.

More Than Walls: What Else We Handle

Interior painting is usually just the start. A lot of clients come to us for wall painting and end up asking about cabinet painting or woodwork enameling once they see what a fresh coat does for a space. We also handle custom enameling for trim, doors, and built-ins. If your walls have existing damage, we can take care of water damage repair before we paint so you're not covering up a problem. And if you're dealing with old wallpaper, our wallpaper removal and repair service gets the walls ready for a clean finish.

FAQ

Interior Painting FAQs

Common questions about interior painting projects in the Twin Cities area.

How many coats of paint does an interior wall typically need? +
Most walls need two coats for full, even coverage. If you're making a significant color change, going from dark to light, or painting over a patched surface, a coat of primer first is not optional. Skipping it usually means a third coat anyway, and still a worse result. We assess each wall before recommending a paint schedule.
How long does interior painting take for a typical room? +
A single bedroom with standard 8-foot ceilings and no major repairs usually takes one full day, including prep and cleanup. Larger rooms, open floor plans, high ceilings, or any surface repairs extend that timeline. Whole-home projects are typically scheduled over multiple days. We'll give you a realistic schedule before work begins.
What's the difference between flat, eggshell, and satin finish for interior walls? +
Flat hides surface imperfections well but doesn't clean easily. Eggshell has a slight sheen and holds up to light cleaning. Satin is more durable and better for high-traffic areas like hallways and kids' rooms. We don't push one over another, we help you match the finish to how the room actually gets used.
Do I need to do anything to prepare my home before the painters arrive? +
You don't have to move furniture yourself. We handle furniture moving, wall decor removal, and floor protection as part of our standard process. If there are fragile or high-value items you'd prefer to move yourself before we arrive, that's fine. We'll confirm details with you before the job starts so there are no surprises.
How soon can I put furniture back and use the room after painting? +
Most latex interior paints are dry to the touch within one to two hours, but they're not fully cured for 30 days. We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before moving heavy furniture back against freshly painted walls. Scuffing or pressing against paint too soon can leave marks that won't buff out. We'll let you know what to expect before we wrap up.
Can you paint over existing wallpaper instead of removing it? +
Technically possible, rarely the right call. Paint can cause wallpaper seams to lift, create bubbling, and trap moisture. Honestly, if the wallpaper is coming off the walls in spots or has been there for decades, painting over it is just delaying a bigger problem. Our wallpaper removal and repair service gets walls into proper condition first.
