About Us

Why Choose Prestige WallWorX

Exterior painting is one of the most visible investments you can make in your home. Done right, it protects your siding, trims out the details, and holds up through Minnesota winters. Done wrong, you're peeling and repainting inside two years. We've been doing this since 2010, and we know the difference. Before we ever open a can of paint, our crew inspects for wood rot, mildew growth, peeling sections, and loose caulking around window panes and trim. That inspection step alone separates a professional job from a DIY attempt that looks fine in October and fails by April. Call (612) 419-2789 and let's take a look at what your home needs.

The cost of exterior painting depends on a few real factors: square footage, number of stories, current condition of the siding, the paint system you choose, and how much prep work the surface actually needs. Sherwin-Williams paints, which we use regularly, perform differently than builder-grade products and the price reflects that difference over time. A modest single-story home and a large two-story with multiple trim colors are not the same job, and we won't quote them like they are. Market rates across the Twin Cities range from roughly $1,500 on the low end to $8,000 or more for larger, more complex projects. Every job is different. Contact Prestige WallWorX for an accurate estimate.

Why DIY Exterior Painting Costs More Than You Think

Most homeowners go the DIY route to save money. We get it. But the math doesn't work out the way people expect. Quality exterior paint, brushes, rollers, drop cloths, ladders, tape, primer, caulk, and wood filler add up fast. And that's before you factor in your weekend. We've repainted plenty of homes that a homeowner started and couldn't finish, or finished and weren't happy with. The cheap option almost always costs more by the time you call us to fix it. Hiring a professional for your exterior painting isn't a luxury. It's the decision that protects the investment you've already made in your home.

What Our Pre-Paint Inspection Catches Before It Becomes a Bigger Problem

We don't just show up and start rolling. Our crew does a thorough walk of your home's exterior first. We're looking for wood rot in fascia boards and window casings, mildew growth that'll bleed through new paint if it's not treated, peeling or bubbling sections that signal moisture intrusion, and siding problems that paint alone won't fix. We examine every window pane for cracks and check all caulking lines around trim and joints. If we find something that needs attention before we paint, we tell you. We won't paint over a problem and let you find it later. That's not how we've operated for 16 years, and it's not starting now.

What We Offer

What You Get When You Hire Prestige WallWorX

We've been serving the Twin Cities and the surrounding area since Prestige WallWorX was founded in 2010. In that time we've built a straightforward approach: show up prepared, do the prep work properly, use quality materials, and leave the job cleaner than we found it. Great service begins and ends with experienced and friendly professionals, and that's what you'll get on every job.

Licensed and Insured Painters

Our painters carry insurance coverage so you're protected if anything goes wrong on the job. We're a licensed painting company. You won't find that guarantee with every crew that shows up in a pickup with ladders.

Professional-Grade Tools and Paint

We know which brushes, rollers, and sprayers get clean results on different siding types. We work with top-tier brands including Sherwin-Williams and we match the paint system to your specific exterior surface, not just whatever's on sale.

Taping and Clean Lines

Clean lines don't happen by accident. We tape properly before every job and take the time to cut in carefully around trim, windows, and architectural details. It's the difference between a paint job that looks professional and one that just looks painted.

Injury Risk Stays on Us

Ladder work on a two-story home isn't safe without training and the right equipment. Our crew handles height work every day. You don't need to be climbing around your roofline on a weekend to save a few dollars.

Full Exterior Inspection Included

Before we paint, we inspect for wood rot, mildew, peeling, siding issues, and caulking problems around trim and window panes. If we find something that needs repair first, we'll tell you. We also offer water damage repair when the inspection turns up something more serious.

16 Years of Experience That Shows

Founded in 2010, we've completed hundreds of exterior projects across the Twin Cities metro. That experience means we anticipate problems before they slow down your job, and we deliver results that hold up year after year.

Our Exterior Painting Process, Step by Step

We start with the inspection. Then surface prep: cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking gaps, and priming bare wood or problem areas. We protect landscaping, windows, and trim with drop cloths and tape before we apply a single drop of paint. Paint goes on in the right number of coats for the surface and the product. We do a final walk with you before we pack up. If something doesn't look right, we fix it before we leave. We also handle interior painting if you're refreshing the inside at the same time.

FAQ

Exterior Painting Questions We Hear All the Time

Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask before they book an exterior paint job.

How do you handle wood rot discovered during the inspection? +
If we find wood rot in fascia boards, window casings, or siding during our pre-paint walk, we stop and talk to you before we proceed. Painting over rotted wood just seals moisture in and speeds up the damage. We can handle repairs through our water damage repair service, or we can coordinate with a carpenter depending on the scope. Either way, we won't paint over a structural problem.
How long does exterior paint typically last in Minnesota's climate? +
A properly prepped and painted exterior using a quality paint system should hold up 7 to 10 years in Minnesota conditions. Freeze-thaw cycles and UV exposure are the main enemies. Cheap paint, skipped primer, or painted-over moisture problems cut that lifespan in half. The prep work we do before painting is exactly what determines how long your results last.
What type of exterior paint do you recommend and why? +
We use Sherwin-Williams products regularly because they hold up in harsh northern climates and offer consistent coverage. The right product also depends on your siding material. Fiber cement, wood lap, vinyl, and stucco each respond differently to paint systems. We pick the right primer and topcoat combination for what's actually on your home, not a one-size-fits-all product.
Do you need to pressure wash before painting the exterior? +
Yes, almost always. Painting over dirty, chalky, or mildewed siding is one of the most common reasons paint fails early. We clean the surface before any prep or painting begins. Mildew especially needs to be treated and killed before you paint over it. If you just paint over mildew, it bleeds through the new coat within a season.
Can you paint exterior trim a different color than the siding? +
Absolutely, and we do it often. Contrasting trim colors are one of the best ways to add curb appeal without changing the architecture of your home. We tape and cut in carefully to keep both colors clean. If you want to explore color combinations, we can help you think through options that work well together on your specific home.
Do I need to be home during the exterior painting job? +
Not necessarily. Most exterior work doesn't require interior access, so you don't need to be on-site the whole time. We do recommend being available at the start so we can walk through the scope together, and at the end so we can do a final walk with you before we close out the job. We serve communities across the area including Eden Prairie, Shakopee, and Richfield.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you handle wood rot discovered during the exterior inspection? +
If we find wood rot in fascia boards, window casings, or siding during our pre-paint walk, we stop and talk to you before we proceed. Painting over rotted wood just seals moisture in and accelerates the damage underneath. We can handle repairs through our water damage repair service, or coordinate with a carpenter depending on the scope. We won't paint over a structural problem and call the job done.
How long does exterior paint last through Minnesota winters? +
A properly prepped and painted exterior with a quality paint system should last 7 to 10 years in Minnesota conditions. Freeze-thaw cycles and UV exposure do the most damage over time. Cheap paint, skipped primer coats, or painting over moisture problems cuts that lifespan significantly. The prep work we complete before painting is what determines how long your results hold.
What exterior paint brands do you use and why? +
We work with Sherwin-Williams products regularly because they perform well in harsh northern climates and deliver consistent coverage coat to coat. The right product also depends on your siding material. Fiber cement, wood lap, vinyl, and stucco all respond differently to paint systems. We match the primer and topcoat to what's actually on your home.
Do you need to pressure wash the exterior before painting? +
Yes, in almost every case. Painting over dirty, chalky, or mildewed siding is one of the most common reasons exterior paint fails early. We clean the surface before any prep or painting begins. Mildew in particular needs to be treated and killed, not just painted over. Skip that step and it bleeds through the new coat within a season.
Can you paint exterior trim a different color from the main siding? +
Yes, and it's one of the most effective ways to improve curb appeal. Contrasting trim colors add definition without changing your home's architecture. We tape and cut in carefully so both colors stay clean and sharp at every edge. If you're not sure what combinations work well on your home's style, we're happy to help you think through options.
How long does a typical exterior painting job take to complete? +
Most single-family homes take two to four days from prep through final coat. Larger homes, homes with significant prep needs, or projects with complex trim work take longer. Weather is also a real factor in exterior painting. We don't rush and we don't paint in conditions that compromise adhesion. Every job is different.
