Popcorn ceiling removal done in four steps
The finish is only as good as the prep. Here is exactly how our crew takes a ceiling from dated texture to a clean, flat surface.
Scrape
We mask the room, wet the texture, and scrape the popcorn off without gouging the drywall underneath. Homes built before 1980 get an asbestos-testing recommendation before a single scraper touches the ceiling.
Skim
Once the texture is gone we skim coat the whole ceiling to level out old seams, scrape marks, and patches, so the surface reads flat and even under raking light instead of showing every flaw.
Prime
We seal the fresh skim coat and spot-prime any water stains with a stain-blocking primer, so nothing bleeds through and the finish coat lays down uniform.
Paint
Two coats of proper ceiling-grade paint go on for a crisp, bright finish. We protect your floors, trim, and walls the entire time and leave the space clean.
